Unplug & Reconnect: Why Sustainable Indoor Plant Workshops Are Dubai’s Best Corporate Team Building Trend

Finding a corporate team building activity in Dubai that pleases everyone is a challenge. Outdoor options are limited by high temperatures for much of the year, while standard indoor choices like bowling or escape rooms often leave teams feeling rushed or overly competitive rather than connected.

Forward-thinking organizations across the UAE are turning toward sustainable, hands-on indoor activities that combine mindfulness, biophilic design, and lasting team synergy.

Instead of another afternoon staring at screens or competing for a trophy, bring your team together through the calming, creative world of living botanical art with Lilli Plants.

3 Sustainable Indoor Activities That Reenergize Corporate Teams

1. Terrarium Building: Crafting Self-Sustaining Ecosystems

Building a terrarium is an engaging metaphor for teamwork. Just like an effective corporate department, a successful terrarium relies on different layers working together in harmony—drainage, activated carbon, nutrient-rich soil, and resilient plants.

During a Lilli Plants Terrarium Workshop, your team unplugs to design self-contained, low-maintenance mini-ecosystems inside glass vessels. Participants exercise spatial design and creative problem-solving while building a long-lasting piece of living desk decor.

2. Kokedama Creation: The Art of Japanese Moss Balls

For a truly tactile and meditative team experience, Kokedama—the traditional Japanese art of wrapping plant root balls in specialized soil and fresh moss bound with twine—is an ideal choice.

Kokedama crafting encourages employees to get their hands dirty, drop their workplace stress, and focus entirely on the present moment. The result? Elegant, hanging works of botanical art that participants can take home or hang around the office to bring natural warmth into modern work spaces.

3. Plant Repotting & Care Masterclasses: Cultivating Workplace Wellness

If your office needs a green upgrade, a hands-on plant repotting workshop offers dual benefits. Guided by botanical experts, team members learn the fundamentals of soil blending, root health, propagation, and lighting for Dubai’s unique indoor climate.

Whether repotting personal air-purifying plants for their workstations or collaborating to green company common areas, employees gain practical skills while improving office air quality and overall well-being.
